150 Years of Rentschler.
150 Years of Creating Value, Sustainably.
Entrepreneurial courage fuels innovation, regions, people, and entire generations. This is what happened 150 years ago when our pharmacy “7-Schwaben-Apotheke” was founded in Laupheim. Our pharmacy was a solid base on which we built today’s business, producing biopharmaceuticals for serious or rare diseases as a leading global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO). We use state-of-the-art technologies and methods to shape the future. With our subsidiary in Milford (Boston, MA, USA), we have further broadened our expertise and footprint. With Rentschler ATMP Ltd. in Stevenage (U.K.), we have entered the cell and gene therapy field.
As a CDMO, we are advisors, partners, and producers for renowned pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Together, we develop ideas, manufacture quality drug substances, and create sustainable value for patients. We do this with a firm commitment to people, health, and passion; this is what drives our team of over 1,100 employees. It is for this reason that we have chosen the motto “Sharing passion” for our anniversary year. Linked to this powerful phrase, we invite you to discover your passion and use it for the benefit of others.
Our Roots
When the foundation stone of our current company was laid 150 years ago, beginning with a pharmacy, we wanted to sustainably create value, both for individual people and society as a whole. This goal continues to drive us today.
Our Vision: Advancing medicine to save lives. Together.

Digital kick-off

Our kick-off to the anniversary year was international and engaging, with hundreds of Rentschler employees across our sites connected in a live online event. Colleagues at Laupheim, Milford, and Stevenage listened to the Rentschler family, our CEO, Frank Mathias, and Jürgen Müller (Managing Director). Cora Kaiser (Corporate Communication) and the well-known radio host, Thorsten Otto, discussed topics such as history and the future, strategy, and values. The entire workforce gathered as one team, sharing the passion of creating value sustainably.
"Kinder- und Heimatfest" Laupheim

The most beautiful season in Laupheim is the children and home festival. This major event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our 150th anniversary by being part of the parade. A hundred of our employees took part, handing out snacks, sweets, and balloons and sharing their joy and passion with the audience. Our lovingly designed float reflected the origin, path, and current milestones of our company. The beaming faces of our many employees and their children inspired togetherness and showed the passion our company stands for.
