With a record attendance of more than 1000 participants, the 9th German Biotechnology Days took place in Berlin on April, 18th and 19th 2018.

Representatives from industry, science, biotech organizations and from politics met in the bcc congress hall at the Alexanderplatz. As representative of the Federal Government Peter Altmaier, Minister of Economics, visited the conference. In his dynamic speech, he emphasized the great importance of the biotechnology for the German economy.

Plenary and symposia focused on a wide range of topics ranging from new drugs against autoimmune diseases to digitization and change processes in biotech companies. At the symposium "Think Big - Biomolecules on a Large Scale", Federico Pollano, Senior Vice President of Business Development at Rentschler Biopharma, demonstrated how the company is preparing for the future. In doing so, he presented approaches the company has established in order to offer from lab to the patient the fastest development, highest quality and above-average efficiency on its own account or in cooperation with outstanding partners.

At the symposium "Production location Germany - What about our biotech competence?" Prof. Roland Wagner, Senior Advisor at Rentschler Biopharma, took part and shared the experience of a company that, in recent years, has shown strong growth and that will continue to rely on Germany as its main location.
