Rentschler Biopharma has accelerated its upstream bioprocess development process by one-third, with the application of a new process intensification strategy.

Johannes Wirth, Process Engineer at Rentschler Biopharma, spoke to Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology News Magazine (GEN) about how the application of an intensified seed train and dynamic feeding strategies at Rentschler Biopharma have led to the successful reduction of timelines associated with biomass generation, while generating higher product yields during the production of biopharmaceutical proteins. The implementation of these approaches in combination with online monitoring technologies enables real-time process insights and holds promise in facilitating bioprocess operation through Automation.
