Dr. Torsten Wöhr

• Chief Executive Officer of Rentschler Biopharma since August 2026
• Brings more than 25 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, including the last 20 years in the CDMO sector across both publicly listed and private equity-backed companies
• Prior to joining Rentschler Biopharma, spent nine years at Bachem AG, where he held leadership positions of increasing responsibility, culminating in his appointment as Chief Commercial Officer and member of the Corporate Executive Committee
• Led Bachem’s global commercial organization, helped shape the company’s growth strategy, supported major investments to expand peptide manufacturing capacities. Also led the successful initiative to extend the technology platform to include the manufacturing of oligonucleotide-based active pharmaceutical ingredients
• Began his career working in Regulatory Affairs at Johnson & Johnson in Zurich
• Spent more than a decade in the Boston biotech hub, including leadership roles at CDMOs Corden Pharma and Genzyme Pharmaceuticals
• Holds an MSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the ETH in Zürich, PhD in Bio-organic Chemistry from the University of Lausanne / EPFL, Switzerland
• He eventually returned to the ETH in Zürich for an MBA in Industrial Engineering and General Management
