Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges of our time.
We are comitted to lowering our greenhouse gas emissions through focused initiatives. Additionally, we prioritize the responsible use of resources and efficient waste management.
We are continuously working to reduce our CO₂ emissions. Over the past years, we have already implemented various measures, such as purchasing certified renewable electricity and investing in more energy-efficient equipment, thereby making progress in lowering our emissions.
We are committed to continuing this path consistently. Our key focus areas are the expansion of on-site energy generation and the transition to alternative energy sources.
Responsible waste management is very important to us. That is why we continuously strive to increase our separate collection rate at our Laupheim site.
Through the implementation of measures such as expanding waste segregation in our production areas and laboratories, we were able to improve our separate collection rate by a further 2 percentage points to 42 % in fiscal year 2025/2026.
.
At our Laupheim site, we are committed to continuously improving our energy efficiency. In fiscal year 2025/2026, we succeeded in reducing energy consumption per batch produced by 13 % compared to the previous year.
This improvement was achieved through various optimization measures to our HVAC systems, including an increased recirculated air share in the new Buffer and Media Station as well as more energy-efficient processes for compressed air generation.
To effectively manage and reduce our GHG emissions, we monitor our Scope 1 and 2 emissions on a monthly basis, enabling us to promptly address any deviations from our targets.
Additionally, we calculate our complete Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) once a year, which takes into account not only the emissions from our own business operations and energy consumption, but also those from the value chain (Scope 3).
For the 2025/26 fiscal year, our CCF has been officially verified by TÜV Nord again, ensuring that our calculation methods meet the rigorous standards set by the GHG Protocol.
Our new energy management system (EnMS) at the Laupheimsite obtained ISO 50001 certification.
This globally recognized certification confirms our commitment to energy efficiency as well as compliance with legal and regulatory requirements through organizational, technical and staff-related measures. Its implementation helps establish best practices in energy management and continuously improve energy efficiency.
In addition, it supports the expansion of our metering infrastructure for the most significant energy consumers, enabling energy usage to be monitored and managed in a targeted manner.
As a result, the certification makes an important contribution to environmental protection while also helping to reduce costs.
